The town house - the green-white building in Renaissance style located in the eastern part of the market square - was built between 1526 and 1547. Originally, it was used for trade and administration but around 1800 it was rebuilt as the town house. From that moment on, concerts, lectures and masquerade balls took place there. In 1945, it was completely destroyed, it was rebuilt in 1971 with its historic front and a modern interior. Today, one can find the "Ratskeller" restaurant in its basement.
